This month we welcome contemporary textile designer Natalie Gerber to to speak. She works out of her studio in cSPACE in Calgary. We'll also finally get to see the Upcycle projects that everyone has been working on since they picked their materials in January. Please don't forget that we'd like to submit this project to Canadian quilting magazine "Quilter's Connection", so send us your before and after pictures!
There will be a Charity Sew Weekend at the Wonderfil Threaducation Center. Come Friday evening on April 27th (5pm until whenever you've had enough) and then leave your stuff and come back April 28th (10am until 3pm). Get a chance to work on the longarms to quilt charity quilts - everyone welcome. We'll bring in meals so you can just keep working! And if you want to sew more blocks for more quilts before the sew day, check out last year's charity block post here - they're super simple and fun, any color works just make sure it's at least 12.5" x 12.5" and no smaller; last year we had to perform surgery on some blocks to fill the gaps.
